A comforting and nostalgic tuna melt sandwich with gooey cheese, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna, drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chopped celery
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of cheese (Cheddar or American)
  • Butter for spreading

Instructions

  1. Mix the tuna filling: In a bowl, mix the drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, onion, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat the skillet: Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Prepare the bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Start assembling: Place a slice of bread, butter side down, on the skillet.
  5. Layering up: Add a generous portion of the tuna mixture on top, followed by a slice of cheese.
  6. Grill to perfection: Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.
  7. Slice and serve: Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, add herbs or a splash of lemon juice. Leftovers can be stored for up to 2 days in the fridge.
