Juicy beef patties smashed into warm tortillas, topped with cheese and fresh veggies—a delicious twist on traditional tacos.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced
  • Ketchup and mustard to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little cooking oil.
  2. Form the ground beef into 2 oz balls and place them in the hot skillet.
  3. Smash the beef balls down to form patties using a spatula.
  4. Season your patties generously with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and add cheese.
  6. Warm the tortillas in another skillet until just heated through.
  7. Assemble the tacos by placing patties onto tortillas.
  8. Top with diced onions, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Fold and serve hot.

Notes

Use high-fat content ground beef for juiciness and feel free to experiment with different toppings and cheeses.
