Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • Green onions, sliced for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Brown the ground beef in the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula until nicely browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil, stirring them into the beef mixture. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Serve the cooked rice first on the plates, then spoon the beef mixture over it. Top with broccoli florets, green onions, and sesame seeds.

Notes

Use lean ground beef or ground turkey for a lighter option. Feel free to add additional vegetables such as bell peppers or carrots.
