A cozy and delightful French Toast Casserole perfect for brunches and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread (preferably brioche or challah)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Maple syrup and powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cut the loaf of bread into 1-inch cubes and place evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Mix together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down to soak the bread.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  6. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and set.
  7. Serve warm with maple syrup and powdered sugar.

Notes

Stale bread works best for this recipe. Feel free to add chopped nuts or dried fruits for extra flavor.
