Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat to ensure a perfect sear on your chicken.
  2. Mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create a fragrant spice mixture.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  4. Heat both olive oil and butter in your skillet or on the grill until bubbling.
  5. Cook the chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and beautifully blackened.
  6. Rest the chicken for 5 minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

For extra moisture, brine the chicken breasts for an hour before cooking. Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper based on your heat preference.
