- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pack of saltine crackers or graham crackers
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and salt, bringing it to a boil while stirring continuously for 3-4 minutes.
- Pour the buttery concoction evenly over the arranged crackers.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let it sit for a couple of minutes.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the surface.
- Sprinkle the chopped pecans generously over the chocolate layer.
- Allow the toffee to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
Notes
Store leftover toffee in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in plastic wrap and a freezer-safe bag for up to three months.
