Crispy shrimp tacos with a flavorful sauce, crunchy cabbage, and fresh toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
  • Taco shells
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Sliced green onions
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge the shrimp in the flour mixture, then back in the buttermilk, and repeat.
  4. Fry the shrimp in hot oil over medium heat until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha for the sauce.
  6. Assemble tacos with shrimp, cabbage, sauce, and green onions.
  7. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the oil is hot enough before frying shrimp. Leftovers can be stored separately in the fridge for up to 2 days.
