A delicious and crunchy Bang Bang Shrimp recipe topped with a zesty Bang Bang sauce, perfect as an appetizer or main dish.

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whip Up the Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and lime juice to make the Bang Bang sauce; set aside.
  2. Coat the Shrimp: Dip shrimp in buttermilk, then coat them in cornstarch, and finally in panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  4. Fry to Perfection: Fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Drain and Coat: Drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil, then coat the shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

Shrimp can be substituted with other seafood or chicken for variations. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
